Polish industrial production up 5% y/y in August: stats office

Industrial production in Poland grew 5 percent in August compared with the same month last year, the country’s Central Statistical Office (GUS) said on Wednesday.

Industrial production last month was 0.8 percent higher than in July, the statistical office reported.
Meanwhile, output in the construction-and-assembly sector shot up by 20 percent in August in year-on-year terms, the office said.
Builders in Poland completed 6.3 percent more homes in the first six months of this year than in the same period in 2017, according to the Central Statistical Office.
A growing number of people in Poland are taking out housing loans, the country’s central bank has said in a report.
