Polish unemployment at 5.8% in September: labour minister

Unemployment in Poland stood at 5.8 percent in September, unchanged from August, Labour Minister Elżbieta Rafalska has said.

Some 948,000 people were unemployed in September, down from 958,000 in August, Rafalska told public broadcaster Polish Radio on Thursday.
According to the EU’s Eurostat statistics agency, which uses a different methodology, joblessness in Poland dropped to 3.4 percent in August, the second-lowest rate in the 28-member European Union.
The EU average in August remained unchanged from July, standing at 6.8 percent, according to Eurostat.
