Unemployment in Poland at 5.7% in October: labour minister

Unemployment in Poland held steady at 5.7 percent in October, unchanged from September, the country’s labour minister said on Wednesday.

Poland’s Central Statistical Office (GUS) reported last month that the country’s unemployment rate fell to a new 28-year low of 5.7 percent in September, from 5.8 percent in August.
According to the EU’s Eurostat statistics agency, which uses a different methodology, joblessness in Poland dropped to 3.4 percent in August, the second-lowest rate in the 28-member European Union.
