The paper said the South Korean company already plans to spend a total of PLN 5.8 billion on a plant in Kobierzyce near Wrocław in south-western Poland.

Puls Biznesu cited In Yong Shim, the CEO of LG Chem Wrocław Energy, as saying the company now had so many orders that the capacity of the plant in Kobierzyce was not enough.

He was quoted as saying the construction of a new factory had to start by June next year.

He added the plans were at an advanced stage, and the new plant would most likely be located in Poland, according to Puls Biznesu.

The paper reported, citing In Yong Shim, that the decision on the new plant could be announced before the end of this year.
