The lowest state pension for senior citizens will be PLN 1,100 (EUR 256, USD 289) a month from March, up from PLN 1,030 at the moment, the PAP news agency reported.

A total of 423 deputies voted for the move while six were against.

According to government estimates, some 6.2 million senior citizens will have their pensions increased as a result of the decision, PAP reported.
