Polish airline LOT to fly to New Delhi

Poland’s state-owned airline LOT is due to launch a connection from Warsaw to New Delhi in September.

The carrier plans to offer flights to India’s capital five times a week beginning September 17, with bookings opening on Wednesday.
The Warsaw-New Delhi trip will last seven hours, according to LOT.
The airline's executives hope the new service will prove popular with both Polish and foreign tourists and businesspeople.
India, the world’s seventh-largest economy, is the second-largest market for direct investment by Polish businesses in Asia, after Singapore.
LOT says it carried 8.8 million passengers last year, 2 million more than in 2017.
This year, the airline is eyeing a new record of 10 million passengers, Polish Radio’s IAR news agency has reported.
Since the beginning of 2016, the airline has launched 66 new flights, including new long-haul destinations such as Los Angeles, Tokyo and Seoul, bringing the total to 107, according to the news agency.
Plans for 2019 include the launch of regular flights to Miami, Beirut and Varna on the Bulgarian coast.
The Polish airline was last month named "Best Airline in Eastern Europe" by US magazine Global Traveler.
