The reading was a notch lower than an earlier estimate by the country’s labour minister.
There were around 968,900 people without jobs at the end of December, up from 950,500 a month earlier, according to the Central Statistical Office.
The office reported at the end of last year that Poland’s jobless rate in November held steady at 5.7 percent, unchanged from the previous two months.
