The number is similar to last year, research by Diners Club Polska found.

Meanwhile, 19.2 percent plan to head off on a holiday organised by family or friends, down from 25.8 percent a year ago, according to the study.

The number of Poles planning to use the services of a travel agency has risen from 8.6 percent in 2018 to 18.1 percent, according to the study, which surveyed 1,100 adults.

Diners Club Polska is part of payment services company Diners Club International.

A recent survey found that more than 20 million Poles plan to vacation away from home this summer.

The figure accounts for 65 percent of the country’s total population and marks an increase of 2 million from last year, Poland’s PAP news agency has reported, citing a study by pollster Ipsos Polska.
