Lech Walesa says he is deciding how best he can support the Wall Street protesters as they continue their weeks-long demonstrations on the streets of New York against 'greedy capitalism'.

"I am weighing up how and when to best support them, without doing any harm," Lech Walesa, the electrician who lead the Solidarity protests against communism in the 1980s, said Thursday.

"We cannot accept a situation when capitalism is making huge money and then does not know what to do with it. It should invest in new jobs," Walesa told Associated Press.

The demonstrations in New York and other cities in the US have brought together many different groups protesting global inequality, bankers greed and a range of other issues including animal rights and the Israel – Palestine conflict. (pg)
