An ongoing strike, Monday, at Warsaw's Okecie airport is in no way affecting passengers, says a statement by LOT national airlines.

Flights have not been cancelled and departures and arrivals from the airport are operating normally after an expected 30 to 50 percent of LOT AMS personnel went on strike over pay and conditions this morning.

A Polish Radio on the spot says that passengers are not even aware that industrial action is taking place.

“Staff are over-burdened by work – an error could occur at any time,” says OPZZ trade union representative Jan Guz.

The protest among mechanics at the airport will last “until further notice” says the trade union. (pg)
