US Coast Guard looking for Polish seaman

The United States Coast Guard is searching the waters of the northern Pacific Ocean for a Polish sailor who was reported overboard a freight ship.

The 49-year-old master sailor was last seen on Friday night, but 12 hours had passed before anyone noticed he was missing.

The Associated Press reports that the 190m Toscana ship retraced its route looking for the missing man, but failing to locate him, continued to its next port of call in Yokohama, Japan. (rg)
