During a press conference Sunday, the head of the agricultural section of the All-Poland Alliance of Trade Unions (OPZZ), Sławomir Izdebski, said that the farmers' demands will be sent on Monday to the Office of the Prime Minister.

Izdebski added that OPZZ gives Ewa Kopacz six days to start talks with farmers, adding that the union does not want to talk only with the Agriculture Minister, because "such meetings do not solve the problem."

“I appeal to the Prime Minister. We give you until Friday to act,” Izdebski said.

He noted that if talks were not commenced, the farmers will organise a protest on major arteries in the Polish capital, and remain until their demands are met. (rg)
