At least two Poles have been injured due to extreme weather conditions which have battered the western side of the country.

The spokesperson for the National Fire Fighters, Paweł Frątczak, said that most of the accidents around the country were due to uprooted trees.

“In the village of Sokołowsko, in Lower Silesia, a moving van was hit by a tree, resulting in two people being injured,” Frątczak said.

In total, fire fighters responded to over a thousand calls, with the majority being in the Wielkopolska region in west central Poland.

Most of the calls were related to broken roofs, power failures and uprooted trees. (rg)
