The budget comes with a planned deficit of under PLN 41.5 billion, with spending set at PLN 397.2 billion and government revenue expected to reach PLN 355.7 billion.

The general government deficit has been set at 2.7 percent of GDP, well below the European Union ceiling of 3 percent.

The budget is based on an assumption that the economy will grow 3.8 percent this year.

In a vote in the lower house of Poland’s parliament earlier this month, the budget bill was backed by 240 deputies, while 189 voted against, and two abstained.

President Andrzej Duda signed the budget into law on Monday evening, his chief of staff, Krzysztof Szczerski, told Polish Radio.
