"Easter is a time of faith, hope and the victory of love,” Morawiecki said.
“This is the moment when our thoughts are directed to our loved ones - to those whom we love, and also to those who need our support and help," Morawiecki said in a video posted on Saturday on YouTube.
Morawiecki, who heads a government that champions traditional Roman Catholic values, added in his video: "We want to be better, we want good to triumph over evil. This is what the resurrected Christ teaches us. From this teaching, we have a universal message: we must unite, not divide, build a community. That’s what we all want, to be together and feel safe.”
Easter, a time replete with traditions informed by the country’s long Christian heritage, is a period when Poles spend time with their families, go to church and eat a traditional Easter Sunday breakfast.
Many look forward to a rest from the stresses of work -- and from the country’s usually fractious politics.
