The dogs and their human disc throwers compete in five events: Super Open, Super-Pro Toss & Fetch, Small dog Freestyle, Long Distance and Dog Diving.

The history of dogfrisbee goes back to the early 1970s and the first world championship for 'disc-dogs' was organised in the US

Poland is playing host to such a major international event for the first time. The finals are scheduled for Sunday.

The current world champion is an American mongrel called 'Bling Bling', though border collies are thought to be the best catchers of frisbees. (mk/pg)
