Borussia Dortmund’s sporting director has confirmed that striker Robert Lewandowski will be playing for Manchester United next season.

“The departure of Robert Lewandowski at the end of the season is a done deal," said Michael Zorc on the transfer to Old Trafford, which could cost the Premier League club up to 15 million euros, if reports earlier this month are to be believed.

Goal.com reports however that the deal has been agreed only “in principle”.

Earlier this month Sky Sports Germany reported that the 24 year-old Polish international would be leaving Borussia Dortmund, last season’s Bundesliga champions, during the transfer window in January, but Manchester United boss Alex Ferguson has ruled out any new signings before the end of the season.

Lewandowski scored 30 goals for the German champions last season and has already netted 15 this season. (pg)
