“I would like to thank the sponsors [of the tournament] and my team in Krakow and my father,” Radwanska said after being presented the trophy in what is her 12th WTA tournament victory.

“I love you too,” she told Polish fans who were chanting her name throughout the match.

The 23 year-old Pole from Krakow, ranked number 4 in the world by the WTA, will now go into the Australian Open, which begins on Monday, brimming with confidence.

Her first opponent will be "wild card" entrant, Bojana Babusic. (pg)
