The Youth Crusade group (Krucjata Mlodych) announced its decision on its official website.

“The Youth Crusade is distancing itself from the immoral behaviour of Miss Radwanska, thereby excluding her from the ambassadors of the 'I'm not ashamed of Jesus' action,” the statement confirmed.

In 2011, the 24-year-old had taken part in a photo shoot in which she used tennis balls to spell the word Jesus.

However, this month, American magazine ESPN released a feature in which she poses naked by a swimming pool full of tennis balls.

Other voices have already spoken out on the web site of Poland's Catholic Fronda magazine.

“Personally I am very sorry that someone declaring herself to be on the side of Jesus has at the same time played up to the mentality of those who treat people as just a thing to be looked at,” said Father Marek Dziewiecki.

However, not all voices have been condemnatory.

Ryszard Czarnecki, MEP for conservative party defended Radwanska earlier this week on his Twitter social networking page.

“[She is] a pretty girl - slim and efficient,” he wrote. “And you, are you jealous?”

Agnieszka Radwanska is currently World No.4 and made the semi-finals of Wimbledin this month. (nh)
