Legia went through to the qualifying play off round on the away goals rule, after Vladimir Dvalishvili scored for the Warsaw side in the first leg.

The draw for the play off round is on Friday in Nyon in Switzerland and Legia – Ekstraklasa champions and Polish cup winners last season - will play one of five seeded teams: FC Basel, Celtic, Steaua Bucharest, FC Viktoria Plzeň or NK Dinamo Zagreb.

Molde FC's coach, former Manchester United legend Ole Gunnar Solskjaer said after the match: “I'll be rooting for [Legia] in further rounds. It was a wonderful experience to be in Warsaw and the cheering today from the fans I will remember for a lifetime.”

Legia coach Jan Urban said of the next hurdle awaiting the Warsaw side before they can get into the group stage of the Champions league: "Now there are no weak teams left in the competition. I wonder if we are ready, mentally, for the Champions League. Tonight we were under a lot of pressure. In the next round, I hope we play much better”. (pg)
