It is rumoured that Koeman may replace Boruc with Fraser Forster, who currently plays for Celtic Glasgow.

The change may come despite a successful season for Artur Boruc, who managed to only let in 26 goals in 29 matches played by the Saints last season. English pundits have said that Boruc was one of the best goalies last season.

However, a couple of curious errors have put a question mark over Boruc’s career with the team. Firstly by Arsenal’s Olivier Giroud, who managed to dribble the ball past Boruc, who also let in a goal which was put to the back of the net by Stoke goalkeeper Asmir Begovic.

However, the Saints only last 0-2 against Arsenal, while drew against Stoke 1-1.

That might not be enough to keep Boruc, who has played for Legia Warsaw, Celtic and Fiorentina, in the Saints’ line-up.

Boruc must now fight to stay off the reserve bench, or he might risk not being called up for the Polish national team for the qualifying rounds for Euro 2016. (jb)
