Gortat tries his hand at TV anchoring

Polish basketball star Marcin Gortat, who has just signed a 60-million dollar contract with the Washington Wizards, made a cameo appearance on the US NBC network’s sports news last week.
Without any prior newscast training, Gortat reported on his own contract-signed in two special segments for the local branch of NBC in Washington, DC.
During the broadcast, a smiling Gortat says “[…] for the Wizards fans, it could be the best day of their lives […].”
According to the Washington Post blog, Gortat said “Oh my God, you can’t imagine how nervous I am right now.”
“The Polish Machine averaged over 13 points and led the team with 9.5 rebounds a game, helping lead the Wizards to their first playoff appearance since 2008. Throughout the season, Gortat was also the team leader in fashion, wearing only the highest quality suits. (I definitely agree with that.)” (jb)
