The event, which is being held under the honorary patronage of First Lady Anna Komorowska, brings together female pilots from all four of the world's continents.

40 pilots from 17 countries are taking part, with Poland represented by Beata Choma, Ewa Prawicka-Linke, Ewelina Helak, Joanna Biedermann and Daria Dudkiewicz-Golawska.

Leszno has a tradition of hosting hot air balloons, and a number of shows and tournaments have been staged in the environs of the town.

“Each time, their return aroused enormous admiration and enthusiasm,” commented Mayor Tomasz Malepszy.
