Poland's side are now firmly focused on the Euro 2016 match against Scotland, Tuesday night, after they Pole-axed the Germans 2 – 0 at the National Stadium in a sensational victory.

"There is always a danger of [complacency] as you want to enjoy the victory that you have earned, but you need to get everyone on board for Tuesday,” goalkeeper Wojciech Szczesny said after the first win ever over the German's for the Polish side, which put them top of Group D on Saturday.

Poland next face Scotland – currently third in the group – in Warsaw, and all the players warned against expecting a win after beating the world champions.

Scotland beat the Poles 1 – 0 in the National Stadium during a friendly fixture in March this year, so the White and Reds will be looking for revenge.

“An even more important match awaits us on Tuesday. I still believe Germany are favourites to win the group, so Scotland will be fighting for the same goal as us [the second qualifying place in the group].” midfielder Grzegorz Krychowiak told journalists.

Germany, who were without five of their first-team players on Saturday, have lost two of their last three matches - losing to Argentina 2 – 4 in a friendly over the summer – and are fighting for form after winning the World Cup in Brazil in July.

“There is no crisis. We have enough quality to catch our rivals,” said the German's PR manager and former international Oliver Bierhoff.

Germany are at home on Tuesday against Ireland, who are second behind Poland on goal difference, in Group D, following a 7 – 0 thrashing of minnows Gibraltar. (pg)
