The police are investigating the incident, but have so far seen no indication of foul play, a spokesperson said.
The fan fell out of the stands and onto the wooden floor straight after the end of the game between Bielawianka Bielawa and Olavia Olawa, second-division teams from small towns in the south-western region of Dolny Slask.
The 54-year-old man leaned out in applause, lost his balance and hit his head against the floor.
Although he immediately received first aid from a medical professional present on site, he failed to regain consciousness before dying several hours later at a hospital in Dzierzoniow. (an)
