Polish star driver Kubica pulls out of Jaenner rally

Polish Formula One driver Robert Kubica pulled out of the Jaenner rally in Austria set for January 4-6.

The organisers published the list of 40 teams set to participate in the rally on Monday morning and Kubica, last year’s winner is not on it. He had previously said he would take part in the rally.

The Pole will take part in the Monte Carlor rally later next year. The Jaenner rally is regarded as good preparation for drivers headed to Monte Carlo due to similar conditions.

Four other Polish drivers will take part in the Austrian rally. Kajetan Kajetanowicz with pilot Jarosław Baran will drive Ford Fiesta R5. Lukasz Kabacinski and Grzegorz Dachowski (Subaru Impreza), Grzegorz Sikorski and Michał Jurgala (Honda Civic Type-R) and Slawomir Ogryzek andJakub Wrobel (Peugeot 208 R2) will also take part. (an)
