Radwanska, who is currently rated World No. 6 by WTA, took just 44 minutes to wrap up her match, defeating Swede Johanna Larsson (World No.70) in straight sets, 6-0, 6-1.

"Everything was working really well for me today," Radwanska said on-court after the clash.

"From the warm-up I felt great and was feeling the ball very well, even with the hot conditions today."

Radwanska told WTA that her cooperation with newly-hired 'supercoach' Martina Navratilova is going well.

''We're working hard on and off the court, working on a few different things right now,'' she said.

''I'm really happy with how it's going right now. So far, so good.''

Next up was Jerzy Janowicz (ATP ranking No. 44), who again had to pull out all the stops in his thrilling fixture against Frenchman Gael Monfils (ATP No.19).

Janowicz won the first set 6-4, before Monfils thrashed the him in the second, with Janowicz losing 1-6.

Fighting back, Janowicz brought the third set to a tie-break, only to lose once again to the Frenchman.

Now losing 2-1, it was make or break, and Janowicz managed to march on confidently, taking the next two sets 6-3, 6-3.

After winning the final point, the 24-year-old dropped to the ground in jubilation, cheered on by a gang of delighted Polish fans. (nh)
