The Poles went into the match confident enough to not field their optimal side, and by half time, they had already notched up a considerable lead of 17-6.

Nevertheless, room for improvement was notable in spite of the eventual final score of 32-13.

In spite of being handed six penalties, Poland failed to find the back of the net from these opportunities, a situation that could have been critical in a closer match.

Having now won three out of four of their Group D matches, Poland's advance to the next 16-team stage is guaranteed.

Nevertheless, the white and red team still has one last Group D fixture against Denmark on 24 January. (nh)
