British media outlets have claimed that premier league side Manchester United is considering signing star Polish striker Robert Lewandowski for next season.

The claims follow disappointment over Radamel Falcao, who was loaned by Monaco to the English club in September.

With little in the way of fireworks from Falcao as of yet, it is unlikely that the Red Devils will take the option of making the Colombian striker's move permanent.

UK pundits suggest that Manchester United might pay GBP 30 million to take Lewandowski away from Bayern Munich.

Lewandowski has notched up 11 goals in 28 games so far this season.

However, having only recently switched from Borussia Dortmund, there are doubts as to whether Bayern bosses will be ready to part with the Polish ace after just one year. (nh)
