The Polish Skiing Association (PZN) is offering EUR 4,000-6,000 a month to a new coach who would inspire the skiers to hard work, daily Gazeta Wyborcza reports.
After a poor performance at the world championships at Falun, Sweden, the athletes claimed they had been inadequately prepared by their coach, Janusz Krężelok. He is now set to become the new man’s assistant.
Aleksander Wierietielny, who coaches the double Olympic champion, Justyna Kowalczyk, has declined to add to his responsibilities, citing his age (68) and workload, looking after the female skiers. (an)
