Although his team, FC Dordrecht lost its all three league matches in March and languishes at the bottom of the table with a mere 15 points after 28 games, Kurto’s acrobatic saves and attacking skills won him the award from the daily Algemeen Dagblad.

The Pole nearly scored a goal with a header from a corner kick, while also registering an assist, as his long pass opened the way to the goal for his teammate. It was the first assist by a goalkeeper in Eredivision for over a year.

Kurto’s team has allowed the most goals in the league, at 64 the average is over two per match, but the daily said it is the fault of the poor defence, rather than the goalkeeper. (an)
