Robert Radwański, who trained daughters Agnieszka and Urszula himself for many years, could not keep his cool after Poland lost to Switzerland in the Fed Cup over the weekend, the latest in a series of disappointing results for his eldest daughter.

‘’If Mr Wiktorowski has a smidgeon of honour he should resign immediately from training Agnieszka,’’ Radwański fumed.

“His place should be taken by a good, tried and tested trainer from WTA [Women’s Tennis Association],’’ he said.

Wiktorowski became Radwańska’s full-time trainer in 2011, taking over from her father.

The switch led to the greatest achievements of Radwańska career, including a Wimbledon final in 2012, and a series of WTA titles.

This season, Radwańska received additional coaching from former women’s star Martina Navratilova. However, although currently ranked a respectable No. 9 in the world by WTA, tournament wins have eluded her, including on home soil in the Katowice Open this month. (nh)
