Poland poised for promotion after ice hockey win against Ukraine

Poland are poised to enter the top international ice hockey division after beating Ukraine 3-2 (0-0, 1-0, 2-2) in Kraków on Wednesday night in the 2015 IIHF World Championship.

“We played really well, commented captain Marcin Kolusz, as cited by IIHF.
''We skated well and I think we played more physically then them, that made the difference.
“But in the next game [against Kazakhstan] we have to make sure we don’t concede stupid goals like today.”
The Poles are currently in second place in Division 1A, with only four teams in the six-side group still in the running for promotion, and Kazakhstan leading the pack.
Two teams will ultimately be promoted to the so-called Top Division. (nh)
