Speed skater Druszkiewicz keen to compete for Czech Republic

Speed skater Sebastian Druszkiewicz hopes to compete for the Czech Republic after apparently falling out with the Polish team's coach.

“We won't keep anyone by force,” commented Kazimierz Kowalczyk, chairman of the Polish Association of Speed Skating, in an interview with Eurosport.
“All the more so given that this competitor hasn't really made any progress in recent years,” he added.
Kowalczyk says that Druszkiewicz is “offended” that he was not included in the three-man Polish side during the semi-final of the Team Pursuit at the Sochi Olympics in 2014. The Poles eventually took bronze.
“It was a deliberate action by the trainer,” said Druszkiewicz, who hails from Zakopane.
Competing solo for Poland in Sochi, Druszkiewicz came 14th in the 10,000 metres. He also came 23T in the 5,000 metres. (nh)
