The event is dedicated to the memory of Stanisław Tym, an actor who played a pivotal role in the film “Miś” by Stanisław Bareja.

In the film, Tym, who plays Ryszard Ochódzki, is forced to climb the 30 floors of the iconic building in Warsaw to meet a minister.

On Saturday, on the 60th anniversary since the building of the Palace, runners will trace Ochódzki’s steps by running up to the viewing terrace.

The Palace of Culture and Science was completed in 1955 and had been conceived by the then-deceased leader of the USSR Joseph Stalin a “gift from the Soviet people to the Polish nation".

The event on Saturday 4 July will kick off at 10:00 am. (rg)
