48 European teams met in Wrocław for two days from 2 October to 4 October.

Grandmaster Flash has played in three championships in previous editions, reaching the final round twice, and winning once.

In a game reminiscent of American football, ultimate Frisbee is played in teams of seven aiming to score points by catching the flying disc in one of two 23m-by-37m end zones. A separate 64m by 37m rectangle allows teammates to pass the disc to each other.

Once caught, players must throw the disc without moving. If the Frisbee lands outside field, the other team gains control.

Despite being recognised by the International Olympic Committee, Ultimate is not an Olympic sport. (ua/rg/rk)
