Stoch is one of seven Poles currently in Germany for the first leg of the FIS Ski Jumping World Cup in Klingenthal, Saxony.

Friday's training session and qualifications were postponed owing to poor conditions, but organisers are confident that the competition will begin on Saturday.

My aim is to give my very best, and above all to keep developing what I'm doing,” Stoch told Polish Radio.

I hope that my jumps can be even better.

Looking at things realistically, a place on the podium in the general classification of the World Cup is within my reach and that's what I'm going to fight for,” he said.

The 28-year-old, who was born in Poland's winter capital of Zakopane, won two gold medals for Poland in the 2014 Olympics in Sochi, Russia. He won the World Cup for the 2013-2014 season. (nh/di)
