Ski jumping: Poland’s Stoch drops out in World Cup flop

Polish Olympic champion Kamil Stoch on Thursday failed to qualify for the ski jumping World Cup in Bad Mitterndorf, Austria.

In a result that disappointed fans, Stoch came a distant 32nd in the qualifications stage in the individual competition, jumping 134.5 metres.
Among the Poles who managed to qualify were Dawid Kubacki, who jumped 202 metres and came sixth in the qualifications, along with Klemens Murańka and Stefan Hula.
Norway’s Anders Fannemel put in the best jump, soaring 233 metres. (pk)
