The online version of Przegląd Sportowy, Poland’s biggest and oldest sports daily, said a new coach will be named after this season draws to a close.

Under Kruczek, who has been coach for eight years, Polish ski jumpers achieved spectacular successes, with Kamil Stoch notably winning two gold medals at the 2014 Winter Olympics in Sochi, Russia.

Recently, however, the Polish squad has appeared lacklustre and the Polish Ski Association has decided it’s time for a change, according to Przegląd Sportowy.

It said that Kruczek is to be replaced with a foreigner, whose main task will be to prepare the team for the 2018 Winter Olympics in South Korea.

Austrian Stefan Horngacher and Slovenian Vasja Bajc have been mentioned as potential replacements. (pk)
