The playoffs will be held 8-10 April at the Gdańsk-Sopot Ergo Arena in northern Poland.
The Polish squad will take on Macedonia, Chile and Tunisia in the qualifying stage.
The top two teams from each set of play-offs will qualify for Rio. The other two qualification tournaments will take place in Sweden and Denmark.
Meanwhile, the Polish Handball Federation is looking for a new coach to take over the national squad after Michael Biegler quit following Poland’s recent failure to advance to the European men's championship semi-finals. (pk)
