Hockey: Poland eye Olympics after beating Hungary

The Polish national hockey squad has beaten Hungary on penalties to make it through to the decisive stage of the qualifiers for the 2018 Winter Olympics in South Korea.

The Poles beat Hungary 1: 0 (0: 0, 0: 0, 0: 0 - 0: 0, 1: 0) in ) on Sunday in the last match of the initial qualification stage in Budapest.
The all-important penalty shot was scored by Poland’s Krzysztof Zapała.
Earlier in the Budapest play-offs, Poland defeated Estonia 6: 2 on Thursday, and beat Lithuania 9: 1 on Friday.
For the Poles, the decisive stage of the qualifiers for the Winter Olympics will be held on 1-4 September in Minsk. Poland faces Belarus, Slovenia and Denmark. (pk)
