In the first round of the three-day Davis Cup event, pitting an injury-prone Poland against an experienced Argentina squad in the northern Polish city of Gdańsk, Przysiężny lost 1:6, 4:6, 6:7 (5-7).
The Polish squad faces a tough battle in the Davis Cup competition, weakened by the absence of star player Jerzy Janowicz, who has been hit by back trouble.
Poland’s Hubert Hurkacz was to face Argentina’s Leonardo Mayer in Gdańsk later on Friday. (pk)
