Marcin Gortat, the only Pole in the NBA, scored 16 points and 13 rebounds, helping his team, the Washington Wizards, win their third game in a row on Thursday.

The Washington Wizards beat the Philadelphia 76ers 99:94.
Gortat, nicknamed the “Polish Hammer”, also notched up 13 rebounds, achieving his 34th double-double (double-digit score in points, rebounds, assists, steals or blocked shots) this season.
The Wizards are in tenth place in the Eastern Conference, with 33 wins and 35 defeats. They still have a chance to advance to the playoff phase, although the Detroit Pistons (34-34) and Chicago Bulls (34-33) are in their way. (tf/pk)
