Poland’s Vive Tauron Kielce handball team have won the Champions League after beating Hungary’s Veszprem 39:38 in an action-packed final settled by penalties.

The victory, in Cologne, Germany, is the biggest success to date for Polish handball at club level.
The second half ended in a 29:29 draw. Extra time saw the teams still neck and neck at 35:35. The game went to penalties, with Vive Tauron Kielce settling the match 4:3. (pk)
