Although the Polish team lost 24:25 to the Netherlands on Wednesday, the result from the previous match between the two teams allowed Poland to advance.

In the first match with the Netherlands, last Saturday, the Poles won 27:21 and so had more points overall.

Wednesday’s game saw the Polish team losing its first match since new coach Talant Duyshebaev took over.

However, the Poles were missing some of their key players, including Sławomir Szmal, Karol Bielecki, Bartosz Jurecki and Krzysztof Lijecki. (tf/pk)
