Poles optimistic about Euro 2016

Fifty-five percent of Poles are confident that their football team will reach the knockout stages of Euro 2016.

According to a poll by the CBOS Institute, 6 percent of respondents predict that Poland will advance to the finals and 3 percent hope Poland will win the championships.

Germany is cited by 26 percent of respondents as the favourite to win, followed by Spain and France, with 13 and 9 percent respectively.

The poll was conducted at the beginning of June, before the start of the tournament. (mk/pk)
