Rio Olympics: 238 Poles named on national squad

Poland will be represented by 238 athletes from 23 disciplines at the Olympic Games in Rio de Janeiro, which kick off on 5 August.

The line-up was officially approved on Thursday by the Polish Olympic Committee.
The squad “offers hope for success in Rio de Janeiro,” said Andrzej Kraśnicki, president of the Polish Olympic Committee.
The Polish team will comprise 100 women and 138 men. In addition, there will be eight reserves and almost 200 people to help the athletes including trainers, doctors and physiotherapists.
The Rio Olympics take place from 5 to 21 August. (pk)
