Błaszczykowski, capped 84 times for the Polish national squad, will return to Germany after a year on loan to Italian team Fiorentina.

Błaszczykowski, 30, joined Germany’s Borussia Dortmund in 2007, but current manager Thomas Tuchel did not see a place for him in the team.

Błaszczykowski was one of Poland’s best players at the recent Euro 2016 championships in France.

He scored two goals, against Ukraine and Switzerland, but also missed a crucial spot kick in a quarter-final with Portugal that saw Poland losing on penalties and exiting the tournament.
