Milik, one of Poland’s stars at the recent Euro 2016 football championships in France, on Monday signed a five-year contract with the Italian club.

Ajax director of football Marc Overmars said Milik has performed “fantastically” for the Dutch club, which wanted to keep him, but Napoli proved determined.

Milik has been capped 31 times for Poland and has scored 11 goals.

In Euro 2016 he played in five matches, and scored the only goal of a game against Northern Ireland in Poland’s tournament opener. (pk)
