The Poles were on Monday beaten by Spain’s Roberto Bautista Agut and David Ferrer 3: 6, 6: 7 in the second round.

Poland’s last chance for Olympic tennis medals is in the mixed doubles, in which Kubot is teaming up with Agnieszka Radwańska.

Radwańska, one of Poland’s biggest hopes, has been knocked out of the women’s singles.

Meanwhile, Poland’s Jerzy Janowicz was eliminated from the men’s singles tournament after losing to Gilles Muller of Luxembourg.
